Charline Sullivan Stewart

December 4, 1955 - January 19, 2021

Mrs. Ruby Charline Stewart, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23 beginning at 9:30 with funeral services directly following at 11:00 both at Murphy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Mayo officiating. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Charline was born December 4, 1955, to Clarence “Bud” Sullivan and Beatrice “Bea” Walker Sullivan. She was a graduate of Louisville High School. Charline retired in 2015 with thirty years of service as a program technician for the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Services Agency. She was currently serving as the Woodmen Life chapter president. She was recently chosen as the North Mississippi Fraternalist of the Year for the Woodmen Life North Mississippi Chapter 102. Charline attended Murphy Creek Baptist Church where she was very active. She could be found each Thursday and some Wednesday’s folding church bulletins, writing little personal notes in the bulletins to be mailed to shut-ins, and sending out signed prayer cards to the sick and bereaved. She also volunteered at the Baptist Food Pantry. She delivered fruit baskets to shut-ins, and she packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child. She was an advocate for missions. She enjoyed sewing and making pillow case dresses for children in Honduras. During the COVID-19 pandemic she made and donated thousands of face masks to local clinics. She also carried out her Mask Ministry at Crossroads. If you purchased a mask, please know it was made with love. Charline was a servant of God in every sense of the word. Many have said, “to know her was to love her.” She was happiest when doing things for others and sharing her love of Christ with everyone she met. She was a true prayer warrior. Charline is survived by her loving husband, William Harold “Bill” Stewart, of 47 years; her daughters, Renee (Dale) Stafford and Suzanne (Alan) Brown both of Caledonia, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw” to her grandchildren: Jesse (Lindsey-Brooke) Allen, Clara Allen, Addie Kate Brown, and Ryker Cannon Brown. She is also survived by her bonus grandchildren: Lyndsey (Charles) Huckaby, Andrew Huckaby, Clara Huckaby, Courtney (Aaron) Smith and Mary Stafford. She leaves behind a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind one sister Marilyn (Jerry) Bressler of Harlingen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Beatrice Sullivan, and an infant granddaughter. Pallbearers will be Jesse Allen, Benji Davis, Trey Whitehead, Trent Whitehead, Tanner Jacobs, and Ricky Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Lipsey and Joe Clark. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family asks that everyone adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made in Charline’s memory to Murphy Creek Baptist Church Mission Fund. Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
