One of her greatest joys was being “MaMaw J” to her ten grandchildren: Joseph Burkes; Crystal Gilmore; Stacie Strickland (Jeff Wilcher); Kimberly Bates (Jerry Higgins); Charlie Alexander; Dustin McVay; Samantha McVay; Brantley Creekmore; Mason Creekmore; and Amy Black. She also leaves behind 20 great-grandchildren: Sierra Burkes; Haley, Amber and Dusty Gilmore; Hannah Runnels; Clayton Strickland; Alisa Strickland; Rusty Bates; Michael Bates; Angel Bates; Zachary Bates; Cody Alexander; Adrianna and Grace Alexander; Makenzie McVay; Roper McVay; Makala Yarbrough; Lakeland and Anniston Presley; and Carley Swindle. She was preceded in death by her son Richard Kevin Alexander; her parents; and three brothers Richard, Jerry, and Ronnie Sasser.
