John David "J. D." White

August 9, 1967 - March 27, 2020

John David “J. D.” White, 52, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Spears Cemetery. A private family visitation will be the day of the service. Interment will follow in Spears Cemetery. J. D. was born August 9, 1967, to Glenn and Eldean Spears White in Morton, Mississippi. He attended East Side Baptist Church in Raleigh, Mississippi; and Whitehall Methodist Church when he lived in Louisville. J. D. enjoyed basketball, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and swim. He was a prankster by nature and was always trying to play jokes on everyone. J. D. is survived by his children: Joshua White of Forest, Mississippi; Kelsey White of Meridian, Mississippi; Candice LaPrade and husband Greyland of Lake, Mississippi; Rebecca Kathleen Westbrook and husband Brandon of Raleigh, Mississippi; and Brice Nathaniel Lee White also of Raleigh. He also leaves behind to mourn his passing his mother Eldean Richardson and husband Sidney C. Richardson, Jr.) also of Raleigh; his siblings: Lori Jane Adcox of Philadelphia, Mississippi; Sidney C. (Brittany) Richardson III of Raleigh; Charles Marcus (Jena) Richardson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Mervin Glenn White; and Allen Richardson both of Raleigh. He is also survived by the mother of his children Sandy White of Forest, Mississippi; his brother-in-law Donnie Bowen of Raleigh; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw J.D.” to his 12 grandchildren: Jaydan White, Chloe White, Clayton White, Aaliyah Mathis, Lexie Mathis, Brentley Mathis, Daniel Joy, Josie Griffin, Naomi Griffin, Greyson LaPrade, Avery Westbrook, and Remmy Westbrook. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn White, his sister Sandra Renee Bowen, his brother Ronnie Dale White, his grandparents: Dovie and Delton White and Mervin and Mildred Spears, and two uncles J. P. and Olen White. Serving as pallbearers are Joshua White, Greyland LaPrade, Vernon Craft, Daniel Roy Edwards, David Lee Edwards, Chris Smith, Derral Ray Spears, and Danny Ray White. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Joy and Brentley Mathis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in memory of J. D. be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help defray the expense of the service. Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
