Linn Harry McCubbin

January 18, 1946 - January 29, 2016

Linn Harry “Mack” McCubbin, 70, formerly of Louisville, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Graveside services and interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Marcus “Markie” Jackson and Mark Jackson officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Mack was born January 18, 1946, to Clinton and Maxine Linn McCubbin in Reno, Nevada. He answered the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a Marine Mechanic in the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Cabildo. During the time that he lived in Louisville, he was employed by Georgia Pacific Particle Board Division where he worked in the lab. He is survived by his daughters, Karla Jackson and husband, Mark, of Louisville; and Kathi Stanphill and husband, Jim, of Fulton, Mississippi. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Rev. Marcus “Markie” Jackson and wife, Robin; Brianne Jackson; Julia Stanphill Morrow and husband, Drew; James Stanphill; Erin Stanphill; and Evan Stanphill; as well as three great-grandchildren: Kaitye Grace Jackson, Whitten Jackson, and Mia Ann Morrow. Also left to mourn his passing is his brother, Clinton McCubbin and wife, Linda, of Seattle, Washington; special friends, Stephanie and Hans Schmidt of Cypress, Texas; and his beloved cat, John Pierre. He was preceded in death by his parents. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Don Baker, Jeff Grimshel, James Higgason, Mark Jackson, James Stanphill, and Jim Stanphill. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Clark, Gene Estes, and Buddy Pickett. Memorials may be given to The Baptist Children’s Village, c/o Mark Mathis, 1159 Pickett Road, Louisville, MS 39339 or to The Mississippi Children’s Cancer Clinic, Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216. Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
