Mildred Donald

June 7, 1928 - November 7, 2018

Mildred Patterson Donald, 90, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Madison County Nursing Home in Canton, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Nowell Massey Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mildred was born June 7, 1928, to William and Earline Clark Patterson. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Louisville. She enjoyed gardening—both in her vegetable and flower gardens. Mildred was an avid cookbook collector and enjoyed reading the recipes in her cookbook collection. She also loved to cook and her coconut cake was “world famous”; those who normally did not eat coconut cake would eat hers! She retired from Citizens Bank as a teller after 26 years. Mildred is survived by her daughter Lisa Bane and husband Jason of Madison, Mississippi. She is also survived by her sister Marzene Whitmire of Louisville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. One of her greatest joys for the last 22 years was being “MiMi” to her six grandchildren: Haden, Allyn and Rossy Edmonson, and Chandler, Jordan and Carley Bane; and her beloved pet Heidi. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Troy L. Donald; son Keith Donald; son-in-law Richie Edmonson; her parents; and siblings Faye McClure and Milton Patterson. Serving as pallbearers will be James Donald, S. T. Ray, Jr., Mark Rowlen, and Wayne Whitmire. John Campbell, Don McClure, Steve Whitmire, and Kenneth “Pete” Whitmire will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to First Methodist Church Youth Fund, P. O. Box 1426, Louisville, MS 39339. Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
